San Diego Competitive Edge runs a six-week train-to-hire cohort for San Diego County residents ages 18 to 30 who have experienced cultural displacement. Each year it takes 20 candidates through a boot camp, OSHA certifications, resume work, and interpersonal training. Patriot General is a founding partner.
In 2023, Chief Administrative Officer Ben Garcia and Director of Marketing Doug Sampson interviewed candidates at San Diego City College over nearly three days. The company offered jobs to five of them as underground technicians, fire safety officers, or yard apprentices.
