IID Avenue 42 Substation
Ongoing support for Imperial Irrigation District’s Avenue 42 upgrade, the first of the district’s Indio power projects.
On 6 January 2026, Imperial Irrigation District and the City of Indio broke ground on the Avenue 42 Substation Upgrade. Patriot General is supporting that work with Henkels & McCoy West.
The upgrade is a $12 million project that adds a third transformer bank. The district has said construction is expected to finish by late August 2026. IID and the Indio Electric Financing Authority, formed in 2023, describe the wider set of projects as enough capacity for about 16,000 single-family homes.
Avenue 42 is the Patriot General scope on this record. The district’s broader Coachella Valley program, including Avenue 40, the Carreon expansion, and Northgate / Avenue 43, is IID’s plan. Those other yards are not listed here as Patriot General work.
